Miss Lyndsay Fuller Michalek - Owner & Director

Miss Lyndsay Fuller Michalek grew up at Miriam and Valerie’s School of Dance Arts  where she learned Ballet, Tap, Musical Theater, Jazz, Lyrical, Hip-Hop, Acro, and Ariel Arts. There she had the opportunity to dance for Walt Disney World, participated in many Orlando Magic’s Basketball games as half-time entertainment, and competed at various competitions including  the American Dance Competition. 

Miss Lyndsay studied at Stetson University where she tripled majored in Art, History, & Psychology. There she taught for Stetson's Community School of Dance & choreographed for Stetson's "Top Hats" Dance Team. During her time in Deland, Miss Lyndsay has been the Director of 3 dance schools, including her own, and has tried to make an impact in keeping the performing arts prevalent in our community. She has worked with the ACA, Volusia County Cultural Alliance, and of course the Athens Theatre whom she serves on the Board of Directors. Miss Lyndsay has a Master's of Science in Entertainment Business from Full Sail University, and a Master's of Arts in Organizational Leadership Psychology from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology. She is also 200hr Yoga Alliance Certified.

Miss Lyndsay has been a part of various performances and productions throughout Central Florida (including her own) area for the last 12 years. Her choreography has been regionally and nationally recognized through the years, including be awarded with  "Creatively Conceptual Choreography" at Starboard National Finals and "Best Choreography" at Encore DCS & Access Broadway Regional & National Events. Some of her dancers are attending prestigious dance/academic programs at Rollins College, University of Florida, Florida State University, University of Central Florida, Oklahoma City University, Point Park University, Savannah School of Art & Design, Elon University, Emory University, and Stetson University.

Worked for over 35 years in New York, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Reno and Lake Tahoe performing "adagio" work, stunts, dancing and acting as well as teaching on professional and studio levels. With over 10,000 live performances, Thom Lake is considered (by himself!) as one of the most versatile purveyors for the arts.

Currently on teaching staff for Florida School of the Arts, The Osceola County School for the Arts, Dr. Phillips High School, the School of Dance Arts, Access Broadway, Dance Masters of America and Dance Educators of America. Taught for Cedar Lakes NYC, Studio Harmonique in Paris and at the Conservatory in the Czech Republic. 

Began his training at Virginia Intermont College, and graduated from the University of the North Carolina School of the Arts. Attended the Joffrey School of Dance, David Howard and Harkness Ballet schools in New York City, and at The Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival In Becket Massachusetts.  All on full scholarship. 

Danced with ballet companies in the United States, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Taiwan and Canada. Certified in Vedic Thai Body Work and level 1 Zumba. Choreographed, Co-choreographed and performed in TV Commercial, Television and Movies that include: Damiani Jewelry with Brad Pitt, The Drew Carey Show, The Closer, Home Improvement, Mystery Men, The Affair of the Necklace and the movie adaptation of the Broadway musical Rent. Most recently finished filming for the The Smurfs movie. 

Miss Ashley King

Miss Ashley King studied dance as a member of Dancescapes Contemporary Dance Theatre at Daytona State College.  She began teaching music and choreographing for theater companies after she received her AA degree with a focus in dance at 17. Miss Ashley has always been a musical theater enthusiast and has performed in many shows including The Fantasticks (Louisa), The Sound of Music (Maria), The Fiddler on the Roof (Hodel), Once on this Island (Erzulie), among others. 

Miss Ashley graduated Summa Cum Laude from Stetson University with Bachelor’s degrees in Music Performance (Voice) and Music Education (Voice) (2017).  During her time at Stetson, Miss Ashley served as the president of both the Concert Choir and Stetson’s chapter of the American Choral Directors Association.  As a vocalist at Stetson, Miss Ashley performed in Benjamin Britten’s Albert Herring (Miss Wordsworth), Scarlatti’s La Griselda (Costanza), Mozart’s Idomeneo, Straus’ Ein Walzertraum, Night of A Thousand Stars, and Masquerade.  In addition to performing singing roles, Miss Ashley acts as the choreographer and dance captain for Stetson’s Opera Theater program.  Her work was featured heavily in Ein Walzertraum and Night of A Thousand Stars where she was also a dance soloist and student director.  She also choreographs for Stetson’s Summer Vocal Camp and has worked on selections from Shrek, Into the Woods, and The Phantom of the Opera for the program. 

Outside of Stetson, Miss Ashley has worked on many shows as director, choreographer, and music director, including Alice in Wonderland, Cinder-Ella, Sleeping Beauty, Pirates (The Daytona Playhouse), The Lion King, Jr., Peter Pan Jr. (CAFA)  and as solely the choreographer for Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (Wayne Densch PAC), and Company (Shoestring), as well as numbers for various show choirs throughout Volusia County Public Schools.  In her spare time, Miss Ashley keeps a private voice and piano studio and works as a liturgical musician and enjoys reading and spending time with family.  Miss Ashley is thrilled to join the Preps staff and can’t wait to work with all of the wonderful, talented students.   


Miss Natalie

Miss Natalie Schwerdfeger is back from her first year at Emory University, where she will be returning in the fall to study business. She began performing at a very young age and started to take her passion seriously when she joined Preps in 2013. She became an elite company member in 2014, and graduated in 2018. Her roles have included Alice in “Alice”, Cogsworth in “Tale as Old as Time”, Miss Hannigan in “Annie”, Roxie Hart in “Nowadays”, and more. She has also competed with Preps Dance Company and has placed within the top ten soloist at various regional competitions. In addition, she has received the title of First Runner-Up for America’s Best Debut and Diva Performer from Access Broadway on several occasions both regionally and nationally.

MISS ADRIanna Duda

Miss Adrianna began dance lessons at the age of 4. She received her classical ballet training through the Orlando Ballet School. Adrianna has attended summer programs at the School of American Ballet in NYC, Orlando Ballet, Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet in Carlisle, PA, Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre, Jacob’s Pillow in Becket, MA, and has been accepted into many others. Adrianna has competed in the Youth America Grand Prix semi-finals in Orlando, Tampa, and South Carolina placing in the top 12 for classical and contemporary categories, 1st place in the ensemble categories, and has progressed to the NY finals competing in the classical, contemporary, and ensemble categories, as well as placing and performing in the galas in the ensemble categories.

In 2013, Adrianna placed silver and bronze in the women’s contemporary and classical categories at the American Dance Competition and in 2015, she received a full tuition scholarship to the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre Intensive Summer Program and full tuition scholarship to the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre Graduate Program. Adrianna became a trainee with the Orlando Ballet School at the age of 16 and began her professional career with the Orlando Ballet as a member of the second company at the age of 17, and finally accepting a contract with the company for the 2015-16 season. Adrianna is an ABT Certified Teacher who successfully completed the American Ballet Theatre Teacher Training Intensive in Pre-Primary through Level 3 of the ABT National training Curriculum in 2014. Adrianna has experience in teaching ballet to dancers from 3 years old up to pre-professional, professional, and adult classes.

In addition to dancing full-time with the Orlando Ballet and teaching part-time, Adrianna is pursuing her academic career through Daytona State College. Adrianna enjoys reading, traveling, teaching, and spending time with her family. She is very excited to be working with the Preps dancers and to be a part of the staff!!

Miss Kerrigan

Miss Kerrigan has been dancing ever sense she can remember. She started at Preps in 2014 and became a company member in 2015. Kerrigan won Best All-Star vocalist in New York City at Access Broadway’s Cup Series finals in 2016. Miss Kerrigan has starred in Tale as Old as Time and Alice, as well as being part of numerous other Preps Dance productions. Her impressive resume includes dancing at Disney, opening for The Rocky Horror Picture Show held at the Athens Theatre, and featuring in 2 theatre productions put on by The Athens Theatre. Miss Kerriganis currently seeking a degree in Social Media Marketing. As the new season approaches, Miss Kerrigan is thrilled to be dancing and teaching at Preps.

Mr. Alan Ware

For over 30 yrs, his discipline in mime led him through the worlds of Opera, Ballet, theater, film and circus. He trained under Marcel Marceau, studied physical theatre at Dell Arte International and upon graduating Clown College in 1996, he toured with Ringling Bros. Barnum & Bailey as a featured clown for 12 years before settling in DeLand. He is perhaps best known at the Athens Theater where he has directed and performed for several years. His classes are based upon his Character Class series that he taught at universities and performing arts schools nationwide as an extension of Clown College. He is very exited to be working with our students on the weekly basis this year, and cannot wait to see what the new season and new year has in store.
